Skiareal Spindleruv Mlyn is the best known winter sport center in the Czech Republic. Skilifts of the ski-area Svatý Petr have total capacity of 8.990 persons per hour. The skilifts of the ski-area Medvědín have total capacity of 8.480 persons per hour. There is an ideal starting point for people going to the ski-area Horní Mísečky

Spindleruv Mlyn belongs to one of the most popular skiing centre not just in Giant Mountains but in the whole Czech republic. Is situated about 715 - 1310 metres above the sea level where the Dolsky stream joins the river Labe. The town lies in the Giant Mountain National Park and extend in an area of 77 square kilometres and has got 4 parts - Predni Labska, Labska, Bedrichov and Svaty Petr. There lives about 1300 inhabitants during the year in Spindleruv Mlyn and in the season is increased for about 15 000 tourists.

Spindleruv Mlyn is an ideal place for tourists which can use plenty of tourist and cyclic routes. The first snow starts to show at the end of October but the main winter season starts in December and lasts until April. The most favourite skiing areals are Svaty Petr and Medvedin. Both of them have got good snow conditions not just for professional skiers but for beginners too. In both of them are snowboard parks.
